Villa d'Este
This historic villa was chosen by Alfred Hitchcock to film some scenes for his debut film, ‘The Labyrinth of Passions’ (known in Italy as “Il giardino del piacere”) in 1925. The director also shot scenes on the Isola Comacina and in the village of Nesso, particularly impressed by the picturesque waterfall and the medieval Civera bridge. In addition, Richard Eye used the villa for his film ‘The Other Man’, starring Antonio Banderas and Liam Neeson.
Villa La Gaeta
It was chosen to shoot the last scene of ‘Casino Royale’, a James Bond film. This location was the ideal setting to represent the elegance and charm typical of the adventures of the famous British secret agent.

For years the private residence of George Clooney, Villa Oleandra has often hosted celebrities from the world of cinema or the star system.
Villa del Balbianello
This villa, built in the 18th century, has hosted scenes from George Lucas’ ‘Casino Royale’, ‘Star Wars II – Attack of the Clones’, Italian films such as Mario Soldati’s ‘Piccolo Mondo Antico’ and ‘Malombra’, and John Irvin’s ‘A Month at the Lake’, where the action takes place entirely on Lake Como, mostly in the gardens of the Villa Balbianello, but also at the Lido in Bellagio, at Villa Olmo, at Rezzonico, others in Varenna, on the lakeside promenade, and still others on the boat jetties in Tremezzo and Cernobbio.
Villa Erba
It represents the villa of a thief in ‘Ocean’s Twelve’. The villa and lake views contributed to the atmosphere of the film, with scenes also filmed along the Regina highway and on the lake with a Riva speedboat.
Ossuccio on Lake Como
Filming location for ‘House of Gucci’ (2021), starring Lady Gaga and Adam Driver. The filming captured the unique beauty of the Isola Comacina and the surrounding region.

Scenes from the film ‘Rocco e i suoi fratelli’ (1960), directed by Luchino Visconti, were shot here.
